At Al-Waahid Social Services (AWSS), an initiative of Masjid Al-Ikhlaas, we are dedicated to providing Zakat assistance to eligible individuals and families. Our mission is to distribute Zakat in a manner that upholds Islamic principles, ensuring that those in need receive support with dignity and confidentiality.

“Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy, and for those employed to collect [Zakat], and for bringing hearts together [for Islam], and for freeing captives [or slaves], and for those in debt, and for the cause of Allah and for the stranded traveler – an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.”

Who is Eligible for Zakat?

As mandated in Surah At-Tawbah (9:60), Zakat must be distributed to those in specific categories of need. At AWSS, we ensure that Zakat reaches those who qualify, including:

The Poor (Al-Fuqara’) – Individuals who have minimal or no income.
The Needy (Al-Masakin) – Those struggling to meet their daily needs despite having some resources.
Those in Debt (Al-Gharimin) – Individuals who have incurred debts for legitimate reasons and cannot repay them.*

Confidentiality & Dignity

At AWSS, we recognize the significance of maintaining the dignity and privacy of Zakat recipients. All applications are handled with the highest level of confidentiality. Only the authorized review committee will have access to your information, which will never be shared or used for any purpose other than determining eligibility for Zakat. Our goal is to ensure that assistance is provided with compassion and respect.
