The ISGM Barakah Fund (IBF) is an endowment (waqf) initiative that will establish a sustainable source of funding for our community’s future. Following Eid, we will officially setup this waqf, ensuring continuous rewards for generations to come. Our upcoming fundraiser is a key step in building this foundation.
“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them.”
—[Sahih Muslim]
🔹 Definition: Waqf (وقف) means to pause or restrict, transferring an asset permanently for the sake of Allah (SWT).
🔹 Perpetual Impact: Unlike one-time donations, a waqf continues generating benefits indefinitely.
🔹 Historical Significance: From the Well of Uthman (RA) to centuries-old Islamic schools and hospitals, waqfs have funded essential community services.
Currently, ISGM relies on individual donations to sustain its services. A waqf fund would allow us to:
✅ Ensure long-term financial stability for the masjid and its programs.
✅ Support education, religious leadership, and community welfare.
✅ Provide permanent rewards (Sadaqah Jariyah) for donors.
The ISGM Barakah Fund (IBF) is being established to create a lasting source of support for our community. With an initial fundraising goal of $100K, we are coming together to build this waqf and benefit generations to come. Be part of this historic effort!
📌 How You Can Help:
✔️ Attend our Annual Ramadan Fundraiser on March 22.
✔️ Pledge your support towards this waqf initiative.
✔️ Spread the word to ensure we reach our goal!
If established, the fund will be managed as a Shariah-compliant endowment with oversight from a dedicated committee.
The proposed fund will focus on halal investments, such as Shariah-compliant mutual funds, ETFs, and real estate.
Like any investment, an endowment fund carries risks. The ISGM Barakah Fund will follow a responsible investment strategy, prioritizing stable and halal income-generating assets to minimize risk while ensuring long-term sustainability. However, market conditions and other external factors may impact returns. Transparency and proper governance will be key in managing and mitigating risks effectively.
This is our chance to create a lasting impact in our community. Help us turn this vision into reality by supporting the ISGM Barakah Fund.
