A day of sisterhood, learning, and reflection at Masjid Al-Ikhlaas
On August 16, sisters and girls of all ages gathered for the Sisters’ Retreat: How to Become a Good Muslimah, a one-day program hosted by the Islamic Society of Greater Milford (ISGM) at Masjid Al-Ikhlaas. The retreat centered on unity, sisterhood, learning, and personal growth, offering a warm, welcoming environment for reflection and connection.

The program balanced learning, reflection, and connection, with sessions and activities designed to welcome sisters at every stage of their journey with faith. Rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, the reminders shared throughout the day encouraged sisters to reflect on living Islam with sincerity — and to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood through shared learning.
Throughout the retreat, sisters were encouraged to ask questions, share reflections, and support one another in an atmosphere of openness, ease, and genuine sisterhood.
The Central Message: Growth, Not Perfection
At the heart of the retreat was a message that resonated deeply with sisters and girls of all ages: being a good Muslimah does not mean being perfect. It means continually learning, turning to Allah, and striving — day by day — to grow in faith, character, and worship.
For young Muslims navigating the pressures of today’s world, the retreat offered a return to the stabilizing power of remembrance:
