Zakat & Fidya

Zakat ul-Fitr

  • $15 per person
  • Due for every household member, including children and newborns
  • Should be paid before Eid Salah

  • $15 per missed fast / per day
  • For those unable to fast due to permanent illness or old age
  • Full month: $450

Zakat ul-Mal

  • 2.5% of qualifying wealth held for one lunar year
  • Gold nisab: 87.5g (about $8,300)
  • Silver nisab: 612.4g (about $600)
